40 Trinity College students attended a workshop at BORDA Africa Training Center on the 4th of September, 2017.
The workshop was an introduction to BORDA activities, projects and DEWATS technology. It was divided into two working modules. The first was a theoretical exposition on Sanitation and FSM Business Experience. All expositions were supported by training materials. The following topics were stressed: FSM business services, land acquisition, socio-economic aspects and community impact.
The participants were divided into two groups:
Both groups visited Mlalakua Wastwater Treatment Plant (FSTP). Topics included a review on the historical background of the FSTP; the set-up process; stages of the faecal sludge treatment plant; and operation and maintenance. The service provider, Mr. Millinga, shared his business experience.
